jarvis cocker, from the band pulp, has been podcasting. instead of promoting his latest album, he’s reading stories. you can download the tokyo montana express podcast or check out jarvis cocker’s myspace page or add this jarvcast rss feed to your itunes/podcast software.

two gallants are a SF based band. in a recent interview with SFist, they name richard as their fav SF author. in november they’re out touring europe so check them out!

i didn’t find out about this until after it was over (ran october 6-28) but hip pocket theatre in fort worth, texas adapted ‘in watermelon sugar’ into a play.

according to the theatre’s history page, this is the 4th time the book has been adapted into a play by johnny simons (co-founder of the theatre). first was in 1977 (the theatre’s first year), then 1986, again in 1998 and now 2006. sounds like it would be very cool.

anyone see it and want to post a review? (click on the ‘comments’ link next to the date in the blue box and then you’ll get a text box to type into)
