there’s a new book about Brautigan on its way!

Jubille Hitchhiker is due in January 2012 and aims to ‘connect the Brautigan known to his fans with the man who ended his life so abruptly in 1984 while revealing the close ties between his writing and the actual events of his life. Part history, part biography, and part memoir this etches the portrait of a man destroyed by his genius’.

It’s weighing in at a massive 896 pages too!

I certainly hope they come out with a e-book/kindle version.

Married in 1957, separated in ’62 and divorced in ’70, she looks back at their time together.

Now working as a substitute teacher in Hawaii, this interview gives a little insight into Richard & his writing, what it was like in the 1960s in San Francisco as well as her relationship with Richard.

They will read poems or passages and members of the audience are invited to as well. An interactive performance will be projected on a building to envoke a vision of a ‘pretty poetry tower’.
